How We Support Women’s Health

At different stages of life, changes in activity, work, family demands, strength and recovery can influence how your body feels and moves. We work with women experiencing musculoskeletal pain and movement concerns, with care tailored to their individual needs and goals.

During perimenopause and menopause, changes in how your body feels, moves and recovers may influence the way you exercise and stay active. Our approach may include hands-on treatment, strength and movement strategies, with a focus on supporting the activities that matter to you.

During pregnancy and after birth, we also provide osteopathic care for musculoskeletal pain and movement concerns, adapting assessment and treatment to your individual circumstances and stage of pregnancy or recovery.

How Our Women’s Health Osteopathy Care Works

Your care starts with understanding you, your symptoms and what matters most to you. From there, we develop an individualised management plan that considers your stage of life, your goals and the activities you want to keep doing.

1. Listen

We take the time to understand your history, your current concerns, your stage of life and what you would like to achieve from care.

2. Assess

We assess your movement, mobility and strength as relevant to your symptoms, activities and individual needs.

3. Treat

Where appropriate, hands-on treatment may form part of your care, alongside movement and exercise strategies tailored to your needs.

4. Build

Strength, movement and activity planning may be incorporated to support your goals and help you stay active in the things that matter to you.

Common questions

Is osteopathy safe during pregnancy?
Osteopathic care can be adapted during pregnancy, with techniques and positioning selected according to your stage of pregnancy, presentation and individual circumstances. If you have any questions or concerns about whether osteopathic care is appropriate for you, we can discuss these at your appointment.
Can osteopathy help during perimenopause or menopause?
Osteopathy does not treat the hormonal changes of perimenopause or menopause. We can, however, assess and manage musculoskeletal concerns such as back, neck or joint pain, and incorporate movement and exercise strategies based on your individual needs and goals.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Your comfort and privacy will be respected throughout your appointment.
Do you work with my GP or other healthcare practitioners?
Yes. Where appropriate, and with your consent, we can communicate with your GP or other healthcare practitioners involved in your care.
